Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively work on multiple assigned fiber projects under the supervision of the team lead or manager.
- Effectively communicate any obstacles that may impact schedule to senior management and customer
- Ability to read, analyze, & understand specific project scopes of work and translate into drafting requirements
- Convert field notes, architectural, engineering and/or plan sketches into working construction drawings using the required software per customer specifications.
- Revise construction drawings per customer and internal redlines.
- Build and maintain a familiarity with individual client requirements and adapt to new client preferences.
- Work collaboratively with field staff and the permitting groups to prepare, draft, and review the necessary drawings for construction, permitting, and records.
- Perform easy to moderate CAD, GIS, or ARAMIS tasks
- Work within timelines and deliverable quality on medium to large sized projects with the assistance of the Project Manager.
- Mentor and assist newer drafters. May be asked to have someone job shadow as a part of the training process.
Managerial Responsibility:
- This role does not manage others
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel (less than 5%) for meetings or training when applicable
Physical Demands:
Office work is in a normal office environment that requires the following activities:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 90% of the time
- Ability to move about the office to access office machinery, attend meetings, etc.
- Must be able to operate a computer and all required programs
- Occasional moving of office supplies up to 10 pounds
Field work will be exposed to current weather elements and requires the following:
- Ability to open locks, open / close gates and doors
- Ability to ascend a ladder in order to obtain measurements, pictures, etc.
