Railroad Commission of Texas requires the services of one experienced WebLogic/Linux Systems Administrator, hereafter referred to as Candidate(s), who meets the general qualifications of Applications/Software Development (Undefined Title), and the specifications outlined in this document for the Railroad Commission of Texas.
All work products resulting from the project shall be considered "works made for hire" and are the property of the Railroad Commission of Texas and may include pre-selection requirements that potential Vendors (and their Candidates) submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by Texas law. Railroad Commission of Texas will pay no fees for interviews or discussions, which occur during the process of selecting a Candidate(s).

Job Description
The Texas Railroad Commission ITS division requires the services of one experienced WebLogic/Linux Systems Administrator to provide technical support for daily operations and to administer agency application server software and hardware systems and supporting infrastructure for the Infrastructure & Operations section of the Information Technology Services (ITS) Division of the Railroad Commission of Texas (RRC). Perform or coordinate day-to-day system administration functions such as server configuration, break/fix, user support, and backups. Work with DIR datacenter vendor (ATOS) to administer WebLogic, UNIX (Solaris) and LINUX (SuSE/Redhat); perform or coordinate routine system administration functions including: OS installs and updates, performance monitoring, security monitoring, and maintenance.
This role will provide support for creation and management of development, test and production environments and maintains change management between the different environments. Will assist with the building and deployment of Java application software in development, test and production environments and the support of software deployment and management tools. Evaluate, recommend, plan, implement, and document enhancements to agency computer systems and processes. Monitor critical network and system events. Assist with the administration and management of network security. Maintain compliance with current security standards and policies. Make recommendations for updates as needed
