Location:  The primary work location will be Austin, Texas 78714.  Candidates must be physically located in Austin, TX.  No relocation support provided.

Texas Health and Human Services Commission requires the services of 1 Enterprise Architect 2, hereafter referred to as Candidate(s), who meets the general qualifications of Enterprise Architect 2, Applications/Software Development and the specifications outlined in this document for the Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

The Department of Information Resources (DIR) requires the services of one (1) Enterprise Architect, hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification of Enterprise Architect and the specifications outlined in this document for the above-named customer.

1. Designs, plans, implements and administers a DevOps pipeline with core capabilities across cloud provider services. This includes reporting and full system integration.
2. Hands-on experience on setting up Kubernetes platform, deploying microservices and other web applications, and managing secure secrets.
3. Leads design efforts, defines end to end architectures, oversees and performs research studies and presentations that include recommendations, and implements solutions.
4. Works with other Information Technology (IT) groups in defining architectures and leading projects that cross functional agency systems and other state entities that require coordinating, planning, and scheduling during project transition, development and implementation stages.
5. Active hands-on engineering, development, integration and administration of DevOps tools. Strong grasp of automation and monitoring tools.
6. Coaching of DevOps capabilities, and creation of education materials to be used throughout the organization.
7. Ability to make well-informed decisions on DevOps tooling and implementation recommendations based on real-world professional experience.

• 7 Yrs Required:  Must have a hands-on experience on setting up Kubernetes platform, deploying microservices and other web applications, and managing secure secrets. Should have working knowledge of container orchestration using Kubernetes.Preffered Azure Kubernetes (AKS)
• 7 Yrs Required:  Expertise in multiple DevOps tool sets such as: Gitlab, Ansible/Docker, Cloudbee Jenkins,JFrog + Xray / Nexus,Cucumber/Junit/Selenium, SonarQube/Veracode,Nagios/Dynatrace/Prometheus
• 7 Yrs Required:  Experience of best practices for optimizing IT infrastructure, providing policies, standards and guidelines
• 7 Yrs Required:  Skill in effective written and oral communication
• 7 Yrs Required:  Experience with DevOps architecture, support and engineering experience in Global IT environments including cloud and third party outsourced components. Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in software design and development.
• 6 Yrs Required:  Proficient automation skills using a combination of scripting (like Bash, PowerShell) and third-party tools
• 6 Yrs Required:  Experience with monitoring, logging and operations tools such as Sysdig Secure, Dynatrace etc.
• 6 Yrs Required:  Experience with declarative and imperative languages (e.g., yaml, json, ruby etc.)
• 6 Yrs Required:  Good Knowledge on Azure networking for Azure PaaS services.
• 5 Yrs Required:  Strong background in Agile Principles / Continuous Integration / Continuous Release
• 5 Yrs Required:  Experience of Azure cloud (Preffered). Other cloud provider (Amazon, google) can be considred.
• 5 Yrs Preferred:  One or more Cloud certifications such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer and/or equivalent work experience
• 5 Yrs Preferred:  Organized, responsive and highly thorough problem solver
• 5 Yrs Preferred:  Experience in Disaster recovery and Business Continuity Planning concepts and designs
