The RF Field Technician performs a wide variety of field activities associated with installing, maintaining, and servicing equipment in the field. The RF Field Technician handles various products and tasks under close supervision of the Senior Technicians.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, test, repair, remove or retrofit various In-Building wireless systems and/or small cell wireless systems and configurations
  • Perform additions and modifications on working equipment and circuits.
  • Tower Climbing/using a bucket truck to reach higher areas
  • Work operations/job activities may include:
    • DAS, small cell, or Wi-Fi Circuit modifications
    • Addition or removal of DAS or small cell equipment
    • Installing cable and wiring per job specification and procedure
  • Rack and stack equipment in heads and remote locations
  • Assist Engineers with tests and/or analysis of installed equipment

Qualifications

_

 

Travel/Shift Requirements:

  • Ability to travel regionally for 60-80% of the time

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors and in confined spaces
  • Ability to work on tall structures using lifts and ladders
  • Ability to work with/around electrical wires and/or ESD products
  • Ability to work remotely at construction or installation sites

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Ability to work with hand and power tools (working knowledge of PPC compression tools is preferred)
  • Strong technical knowledge of current wireless network products or equivalents, with some training performed and recorded on Safety, Business Code of Conduct and Quality Assurance
  • Knowledge of power and grounding with the ability to hook up secondary power to sites
  • Ability and willingness to get certified to run a scissor, boom and bucket truck lift; ability to go up in a bucket truck
  • Ability to conduct work assignments, communicate, address and assist customers in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining robust communication with management regarding activities
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company issued vehicle

Education and Experience Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of field service experience- small cell and outdoor macro experience is preferred
  • Wireless industry experience preferred
